Isotta Fraschini Motori S.p.A. produces two families of modern high-speed diesel engines which covers a range from 200 to 2,500 kW for marine, industrial and railway applications. Of particular note are the non-magnetic engines and generating sets for use in mine-hunting vessels. The latest 1708 common rail engines have also been fitted on the Lockheed Martin’s Littoral Combat Ship. Isotta Fraschini Motori S.p.A. manufactures the medium-speed diesel engines “Isotta Fraschini Sulzer S 20” under license. This engine series covers a range from 640 to 1,575 kW MCR for both marine and industrial applications.

Isotta Fraschini Motori 1700

The IF 1700 family comprises 8 to 16 cylinder models, 90 deg Vee arranged on a high-tensile alloy iron crankcase. These engines feature a direct injection system and four valves per cylinder. This engine family is built on a modular concept basis. Many components are common to all units regardless of the number of cylinders. The parts are thus interchangeable among the engines within the 1700 family. A special “A-magnetic” Isotta Fraschini version is available for Mine Hunting Vessels. The industrial engines are applied in rail traction and power generation. A wide range of power units can be supplied for power stations, marine auxiliaries and automatic emergency generating sets. Special attention has been given to the engineering of parallel units, cogeneration systems and complete ready-to-run power packages. The latest common rail engines which provide fuel efficiency and low emissions have also been fitted on naval vessels

Isotta Fraschini Motori 1300

The IF 1300 family for High Speed Crafts and Pleasure Crafts has been constantly achieving prestigious market recognition. With high performance and sophisticated technical solutions, the features of these new products are the most advanced among the world’s engines of this power range.
The IF 1300 family consists of six-cylinder in-line models and eight and twelve-cylinder 90 deg Vee models. The IF 1300 engines, with their impressive power-to-weight ratio, are highly standardized based on modular design.

These engines were initially implemented for the marine market. However, their bandwidths have been expanded to effectively serve the power generation and industrial engine industries.
